Is export FBX with morphs broken with GF3 / V7 ?

I'm having major issues exporting V7 to 3ds Max.

If I export without morphs everything is fine, as soon as I export with morphs my animation is trashed.

In max I get these extra files, and some weird entries in the morpher modifier with crazy values.

        

 

I've spent days prepping for an animation project amassing all the morphs I need and this has truly dropped me right in it.

I read in another thread this was an issue and I couldn't find any resolution.

I've tried all version of FBX in both DS and Max and all give the same result.

Can anyone confirm either way what the situation is?

Hello all =)

I was wondering what would be the best way to deliver/distribute a Daz Studio item that has a "lot" of morphs?!? Is it better to embed all of them, or to set up groups of individual morphs presets?!?

And how would one do that now, I am not used to the new way of things just yet.

Any help, advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks...

G3 Compatibility Question

after the big trouble even with Genesis 1 I like to know, which of the various G3 pro bundles is really compatible with the base Genesis 3 male (Eddie).
Especially related to the male gens mesh.

Rendering freezes my computer

As of last week, every time I try to render, my computer freezes on me.  I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem, and was wondering if there was an update that could have affected rendering?

Can I make Clone (Alias) of Rig rotation properties?

Hi, before I often make Alias for figure properties. (usually set Alias for pose controller ,,

eg,, make expression controller for root node,  name = expression1, which assgined to root node,

 after that make alias for pose 1 assgined to head node,, so that when I select head,, I can use expression1, as same as  when I select root.)

Now I trying to mimic new genesis3 rigging. 

I know,, twist node , bend , and side-side is Alias of Bend node.  then I make simple cylinder, then add nodes,

now I hope to make Alias of  Rig1Bend (node)  Xrotate (property) , then assgined for Rig1Twist (node).

I remember,, usually I just need to use  Property Cloner with make as Alias option  

in Parameter tab Edit mode.  but it seems not make Alias (or make Clone) for General>Transfroms properties.

 

Is there way to make Clone as Alias about these Translation properties?sad

I try to set Alias in Property Hieralchy pane too,, but there seems no way,, to directly make new Alias for differetn node.

and I made new "property" for "twist node" then try to set it as Alias of "bend node", but it can not work too. (in Property hielarchy pane)

(I know, genesis3 figures actually use Rotation property Alias for Bend and Twist nodes.)  then hope to use same  way to my rigging. 

If I need to manually tweak each dsf s,, it seems difficult for most of user,,, to rigging and pose figure  as same as genesis3 wquartanion rigging,

and posing way.

 

Anyway,, I wan to know , how to make  Alias of rig translation properties, then assgin them for another node.

there should be way,,user make it (because,, genesis3 rigging work so,, and I can see Alias for these rotation  too)  to mimic DAZ rigging way for genesis3. (not copy anything,, just for rigging my props or figure)

Making more morphs for daz dragon 3

With daz dragon 3 will there be Kaiju morphs like A rodan, anguirus, and even a varan and baragon morphs, you experts daz do A lot of wonderful things with women mostly and I am not knocking you on it but it will be nice to see some new morphs for the daz dragon three what put in the early part of the my discussion another example A three headed dragon, you have the majority of heros how about making more assortment of monsters to anyway keep up the amazing work.

Texture atlas and missing images

I've forgotten the answer to this, does anybody remember how to get Texture Atlas working when some of your images are missing from it or otherwise hosed?  See screenshot, the Bark of this tree shows as just a grey square and the opacity for the needles isn't even listed. 

I tried exporting/importing as .obj prior to using texture atlas as well as I had that written down for a fix for something, but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Daz Motion Capture and Kinect Sensor Question

I am interested in experimenting with some motion capture animating in Daz and have come across some older posts about the topic. One of the posts that stands out is http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/15404/motion-capture-kinect-and-daz-studio --mCasual had a solution in this thread which can be found here: https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts2/kinect-mocap-basics  

Is this still a good solution? Also, I'm a little confused about the Kinect sensor. Every one I look up has to do with Xbox. Do I need an Xbox to use it or is it possible to use it on my pc? For short, what do I need to do motion capture animation using Daz in 2017 cheaply? Any help and information would be most appreciated and my apologies if there is already a recent thread on this topic. I couldn't find it.

Just watched a film on the Samsung VR site that featured some of Stonemason's work from Daz3d. Just wondered how they would have rendered VR from Daz.

Frustrated with IRAY and lights

MOVED THIS QUESTION TO DAZ STUDIO FORUM. NOT SURE HOW TO DELETE IT. SORRY.

 

I am very frustrated with DAZ Studio and its treatment of lights for IRAY. First of all, there is no relation between the preview and how the render will look. None. Second of all, it seems hard to even get lights to show up at all in many cases.  I must be doing something wrong because no one else is complaining about it.  Can someone tell me what render settings are required so that basic lights actually light a scene?  I already chose (Scene or Dome and Scene lighting),

Help in Saving Only Part of a Figure (eg head) but Keeping Morphs and Rigging

Hi, I wondered if someone could point me to a step by step for this - if it's possible in Studio.

Basically I'd like to take a head and neck from a character and delete the rest of it

I take it that I :

 export it as eg an obj

then bring it back in to Daz Studio and

transfer the rigging and morphs back to this reduced OBJ from the original figure.

I used to do it in Poser but not sure how to do it in Studio.

Daz Studio Nvidia Iray Interactive & Photoreal Animation Tests

This is an attempt at animating with DAZ Studio and NVIDIA Iray GPU Rendering.  I wanted to try a full frame image using only sunlight in "interactive" mode.  This uses Stonemason's "The Streets of Asia".

It took 4.5 hours to render 900 frames (1920x1080@ 30fps) with a NVIDIA GeForce 970 card.

Bad color bleeding when rendering a product label in Iray

I am attempting to render a label on a box, but regardless of render quality settings, horrible splotchy color bleeding occurs on the label. The rest of the scene renders great. For the box label I start with a plane, add the Iray Ubershader to it, then put my label file (I've tried .png and .jpg) in the Base Color channel. I jacked up the render quality settings, but it still looks the same mess. 

The attached image shows the original label on top, and below is the DS Iray render of it. 

Does anybody know how to fix this?


Dreamland Models City Blocks and Iray

Recently there was some discussion of possibly adding Iray materials to the Dreamland Models City Blocks models, but for the life of me, I can't locate that thread, Can anyone point me to that? I'd be interested in possibly working on that project.

 

Millennium Cat Transfer Utility Problem

I have been playing with attaching Look at my Hair to figures using the DAZ Studio Transfer Utility so that I can render Iray animations with hair.  It's worked good for my first two experiments, but when I try it on Millennium Cat it doesn't work like it did on the others.  When I go to "Edit>Figure>Transfer Utility..." I don't see the scene item: Millennium Cat (see attached screen shot)

I was wondering if anyone has ran across this problem?

It worked in my experiments with  "Rodents by AM: Squirrels of Eastern Hemisphere" and "White Tiger for DAZ Big Cat 2"

How do I delete a Daz Connect item?

Hi, I'm a new user to Daz Studio, installed DS 4.9.3 Win 64b, installed some content via Daz Connect by mistake, now I want to delete it ... but how?

I've tried every pane I could find, R-clicking provides no delete option, the minus sign button in the Content Library tab is greyed out. Stuck! Any ideas?

Smart Content VS Content Library

Thinking about create own "Smart Content", but maybe it is an illusion since I am DAZ beginner, so far I have seen different ways to get DAZ installed or sometimes it do not work.

Since it is possible to open exe, rar and zip files and repack it with "Content Package Assist" as example or maybee other package software.

1. Is it possible to create own package to install it as "Smart Content" ?

2. Or is "Smart Content" a pure DAZ thing to lock out all 3:rd party producer/user that handle software outside DAZ website ?

3. Is it possible to use CMS to highlight only Genesis 2 Female compatible content with Content Library as you can do with Smart Content ?

4. How do you handle this problem with content at different places, Smart Content & Content Library from 3:rd party ?

Does Connect work for anyone consistently?

Yet another time I open DS and all the smart content is "greyed out" and wants to d/l again. However scenes already saved open without missing items. WTF does one need to do to get this to work? Is it just easier to go back to manually install everything( or even DIM), as that has worked for the last 10 years. I have a fresh install of W10, and this happens about 1/3 || 1/4 times I open DS
