Hi,
I just made a scene with a Genesis character where I added some moves. Then I created keyframes from the Aniblock before I exported it as an FBX to another 3D program for edits and render.
Then I reset the character to its original T-pose.
After this I tried to add another Aniblock to make a new scene but my character is now stone dead and it doesn't matter if I remove the old Aniblock and all keyframes except for the first one, its still impossibl to make my Genesis character accept new aniblocks and move around.
What wrong am I doing?
No Aniblocks makes my figure move!
Getting a Fatal Error on Launch - Solved
Hello, I've been getting this error for the last few days and it's been driving me nuts. Pretty sure it happened around the time that last Game Ready Driver came out for nVidia, and from the looks of where the error is originating it has something to do with Vulkan ( I could of curse be totaly wrong, I just followed the path file and it's something for Vulkan). I've rolled back on drivers reinstalled drivers, deleted and reinstalled Daz, re-updated windows 10, but have had no luck. Not sure where to go at this point, maybe I should submit a bug or error report to Tech help. I just wanted to exhaust my options before bothering them with this. I'd love to get this figured out because it's happening on my main PC. I do have a different PC and a Laptop and have not been having these problems on either of those, but they are far less powerful then my main rig where I'm having this problem.
The problem happens when trying to start up Daz. The Splash screen pops up and does it's conecting and building thing and then right when it gets to where Daz itself should start it crashes.
Specs (if important)- i7 7700k, 16 gb 3200 RAM, EVGA 1070 FTW 8 gb, Windows 10 Pro

Sorry it bother you guys, I can usually figure this kind of stuff out myself, but this one has me stumped. Everything was working fine not too long ago, and when I went to check out the Ollie 8 bundle I purchased I strarted getting this every time I try to start up Daz.
Parent Objects to Bones
I was curious can I just import any object and parent it to a bone without having to do a whole song and dance, if so what would you consider the best method? These objects are weapons like swords etc hence why parenting to the forearm or hand would be more than sufficient. Maybe other things like a certain type of hat as well but not cloth in nature. Also, could I do multiple objects? You know how in games a person has 50 different swords throughout the game thus they parent them all (or they used to) and then make each one invisible that is not in use.
Honestly the more I think about it the more I think there should be a 3D, game engine hybrid for movies and such. Game engines have some very good options for just 3D alone. A person can dream.
Can you change a flat skin tone to render with a bit of shine?
OK, I got something close to what I wanted.. The problem is that many of the mats don't apply to other models. The model has a dead skin look, no shine to it at all but no matter how I try, the only skin mats I can get to apply to it are equally as dead. Is there some way to increase the shine on the skin in the rendering stage to make the skin look more alive? The annoying part is, the skin looks fine in the view window but when it comes to rendering, it renders flat. I know that early version models might have this problem but surely there is some setting in the renderer that can overcome this.
Some other models render with a proper skin tone but some simply refuse to. Typical that the one I chose doesn't want to render to look more realistic.
dForce and Hexagon
I've been applying dForce to legacy clothing with some success,
but when I need to stitch clothes together in Hexagon, I lose the
dForce shader settings, and they don't appear when I add them.
I've tried this with no edits to the garment, same problem.
Is Hexagon incompatible with dForce?
Quick fix needed on not having shine on skin
I am working on recreating an old couple I used back with V4 & M4...I couldn't find a male skin texture that worked with G8M so I am using a G8F...I'm okay with everything else but no matter what lighting I use there are these shiney spots on the skin and I cannot figure out what I need to do to fix it...I am not a complete newbie but I also don't understand a lot about the settings...
Recovering content from old drive?
Ok.. pc died with a motherboard failure, but the drive is fine - hooked it up in an external enclosure and I can access my files .. so.. what is the best way to restore Daz content to the new system? .. can I just copy the “my library “ folder over to the new system and let Daz/Dim just rescan the folder? Or?

Does anybody know if there is any way to do a full body morph in Victoria 4 or Michael 4 to look like a teen, almost similar to the Growing Up morph for Genesis 3?

I've been going through my monster sized runtime and noticed that a bunch of stuff is in lost and found. I would like to organize everything for easy finding, including by figure in the smart content. Is there a way to do this?

Issues with 2x 980ti
I have 2 PCs, one has 2x 1080ti and the other one has 2x 980ti.
The 1080ti renders great, but when I try to render on my slightly older PC with the 980tis, every second frame turns out noisy in the same amount of time.
Of course I adjust the rendertime for each frame to compensate the power increase of the 1080ti, but like I mentioned, every second frame looks fine/bad.
For example:
I want to batch render 100 frames of a animation. 50 of those frames are fine but the other 50 are noisy (every second frame).
Does someone know the cause and how's that fixable?
Viewport gone black
Hi, my viewport has suddenly gone black, and even loading a scene doesn't change it. Clearly I have hit something that changed it but I have no idea what. Used to be you could change to black or white, but I can't find that anywhere any longer ... anyone know please? Thanks!
External nVidia GPU on Mac
There's been occasional posts about using external GPUs on Macs so that Mac users can have iRay renders processed by the GPU instead of the CPU. I wanted to share this YouTube video. I have not tried this, nor do I plan on it. Just throwing this out for those that are interested.
Things to keep in mind (in my manner of thinking):
- The script is said to be an alpha
- It is (IMO) a hack of the OS. That makes me wonder what happens the next time Apple updates the OS.
- The person posting the video has experienced kernal panics (never a good thing, again IMO).

Installed Jorja but no Jorja
Hi All !!!
I'm sure it is something I am doing wrong. I bought Rhiannon's just released Jorja for Genesis 8 this morning and tried installing; data, People and Runtime in DAZ Studio4.
The problem is Jorja is not showing in Smart Content or in Content Library. I have spent at least an hour trying to figure out why. The only thing I can think of is DAZ is not reading the new files when opening after a restart or I need to use DIM. But I don't know how to use DIM to install files from outside DAZ.
If it matters I am using 7z to unzip the files. I also tried installing a couple of other DAZ oriented characters I bought from Poser with the same results.

Smoothing modifier
Hello , I have a problem with smoothing modifier . If someone could help me with it. I try to pose figure on bed and use modifier on that and its not a problem the blanket/duvet is fine and I can adjust it fairly easily but when I try to add another figure to collide with blankt/duvet and I change the collision item it restores the first figure to default without collision and I dont know how to add two items to collide at the same time or somehow memorize the first one so I can pose the second one and have collided both.
dForce on an AMD card?
I am looking to try to maybe use dForce and I am am not sure if it works on AMD cards. Every time I have tried to do anything it gives me some message and fails. I am seeing if it is the card or some silly other bit.

Greyed out product after resetting DAZ database
I know this is a long shot but I am going to ask anyway just in case there is a quick solution. I recently had to reset my content database to fix a problem (which did fix the issue) but now all of my installed smart content shows they are not installed (or thumbnails are greyed out; see attached image). The only way I know to show the content as installed is to reinstall them one by one. Does anyone know of a way to show the smart content as installed again without me doing the obvious? Oh, and the content does show up on scenes that I have previously saved and rendered but I have to reinstall the product to do new renders.

Looking For List of Content Types for Studio and Poser
I'm trying to put together a list of all the different types of Content there are for Studio.
My reason is for purposes of storage and sorting. My Runtimes and Libraries get so cluttered so often, that its hard to find things and so I've started sorting by type for ease of location.
Each type is a seperate subfolder in My Library. I leave the basic Studio setup folders in place, but the content folders are way too generic for a large library.
So far I have the obvious:

iRay to 3 Delight and vise versa?
I did a cursory search which didn't turn up much. I haven't even tried iRay yet but I understand the surfaces are different or set differently than 3 Delight. Is this right?? Is there a formula or guide line to use 3 Delight assets in iRay or even visa versa? Is there a script or program to convert between the two? If there isn't there should be. Or am I making more of this than is warrented? I can't imagine that thousands of dollars of assets were made oboslete with the introduction of iRay.
