i am having issues with about six characters i recently made...faces where sculpted and saved .obj, then attached to genesis 8 via morphloader pro and then skin textures applied all looks good, and rigging is fine. but i need to know a good way to package them. saving them with character presets seems useless unless im missing something as they do not retain the custom morphs and they need to be loaded again each time from scratch everytime i want that character , I assume i missed something in saving them...im looking to allow the morphs to stay so i can quickly load these custom characters (via custom action scripts if possible) any help would be appriciated.

Is this possible? Saving a fully dressed character for future use?
I was wondering if there is a way to save a fully dressed character for future use? I know how to save a scene but not how to save my own loadable preset that just adds the character with the clothing and hair to a scene.
I do not want to save the preset as a scene but something I can add later to a scene. Also do I need a blank scene to save this preset.
Also would like to know if I can save a preloaded setting for Cat Girl for GF8 so I can load her up with all her stuff so it will be easier for me?

Lost part of Daz Beta 4.11.0.231 UI
Hi I need some advice before I lose a bunch a work. I have a two monitor set up for DAZ. Screen 1 has the main UI and screen 2 has a set of frequently used tabs. When I started Daz today only screen 2 appeared so I don’t have access to my main windows or main menu items (file edit,etc). I keep my Daz database and files on a separate disk drive so first thing I restored my win10 drive C: to yesterday’s backup. That made no difference. I guess the next step would be to restore my Daz disk but that backup is a week old and I’ll lose a lot of work. Any ideas on how I can get back to a full UI? Running 4.11.0.231 Win10 pro 64.

Shadows on Iray
Shadows woth Iray in DAZ
Hello,
I looked and searched about this and tried out a lot of solutions. Bun none of these seemed to work right...
There is a szene with a g8 male monster and a g8 woman inside a room. (this starter room with white old walls and windows.)
Now i want to create a midnight szene with inside light. But those shadows...they seem not beeing casted at all or totaly wrong... and using light in the preview looks totaly diferent to the iray render of lights.
i can see the scene as totaly overlighted and see the iray render like totally to dark... is there a way to work with lights and shadows for iray in a much better way?

Crash on load prop to blank scene when viewport=Iray
DAZ crashes when I do this:
1. Open DAZ & set viewport to Iray.
2. Add FullArch.pp2 to blank scene (from The Bridge Collection).
3. DAZ crashes.
If I load FullArch.pp2 with viewport first set to something other than Iray then switch back to Iray no crash. Also, if scene not empty, no crash. Also, usually no crash if open a different scene first, clear it, then load FullArch.pp2.
I noticed similar behavior with some other props, but was able to repeatedly reproduce this problem with the FullArch.pp2 prop.
I've tried current and past nVidia drivers, same problem.
I've submitted a help desk ticket.
Just curious if others are noticing this problem, i.e., DAZ crashes when loading objects to blank scene when viewport set to iRay?

Daz Studio Crashing..
i originally reported a serious problem i have with daz studio over 12 days ago.. firstly with version 4.10 and now is 4.11 where the program would crash just after loading the interface..
I have had some replies from support back , but regrettibly none were of help to me...
It seems Daz is more concerned with selling than helping users,as I am getting more promotional emails than am getting messages or emails of help/ support or even suggestions as to adding me out of my problem
I am a long time daz customer, and I even gave up using poser as i though Daz was a better opinion..
I am starting to think should of kept poser !!!
Now I know why Daz Studio is Free...

Render Times Increased exponentially moving to 4K?
So, this is the first time this has happened to me, and I am trying to figure out what could be the problem. I have a scene that I am rendering, I did a test render at HD (1080) just before trying this one. I stopped it after about 5,000 iterations and it was ~80% Converged at that point, and only took about 8 hours. I saved the scene file, restarted my PC (Because for some reason if I don't do that, most of the time it won't render using GPU on a second render) loaded the scene, set the resolution for 4K instead of 1080, and started the render. Here I am ~28,000 iterations later, it's been 1 day 3 hours, and it's only 2% converged... Can anyone tell me what might be going on that it's taking so much longer to converge? I expected it to act like normal and only take about 4 times as long, which would have put me at a day or so... But at this rate, it's gonna be a month or more!? lol
Any help would be appreciated...

Hey, I hope someone can help me. I'm working on making a War Rig like seen in Fury Road. I want to use a gun turret I have on another vehicle. Is there a way to copy just the turret and save it as a new prop?

Why is the Skin way darker compared to the Product Promo?
Hi,
I got the Tween Ryan 7 product.
Setting him into an iRay scene, I found a very dark skin tone. As I analysed, it depends on the default, really unsufficient, translucency setting of that product.
Why doesn't the default (iRay) character look - at least his skin - like the pictures in the promos?
What are the skin settings used in the promo shots?
On the right you see the default iRay Tween Ryan 7 (out of the box) compared with other skins ( G1 Jesse-skin, G3 Eddie).

Iray Environment Map - using JPG?
I have been playing with making 360-spherical images and trying to use them as Iray Environment Maps. It appears that the Environment Map is intended for HDR/EXR images because when I use a standard JPG file as an Environment Map it appears very washed out. The only way to improve the look of the JPG Environment Map is for me to make adjustments using the various Tone Mapping options, but these setting seem to affect both the Environment Map and the objects placed in my scene.
Just wondering if there is a way, inside DAZ Studio, to address the washed out appearance of an ordinary JPG image used as an Iray Environment Map without impacting the other objects in the scene?

Has the denoiser gotten more aggressive or is it just me?
Has the denoiser in the release version gotten more aggressive? I used the beta for quite awhile and the denoiser was pretty strong, but seems to be twice as strong now. Anyone else think so or am I just imagining things?

Does Animate 2 work with Genesis 3 - 8 figures?
I was able to animate a Gen 2 Female using the Belly dancing aniblocks, and that worked out pretty good. When I try to animate a Gen 3 - 8 male or female character with any of the aniblocks it just ends up floating around the scene not really doing anything but flailing? Is there a setting or preference I missed? Does Animate2 just not work with all figures? Is there an upgrade?
I searched the forums and went through a few pages and didn't see anything specifically related to this, so if there is already a thread addressing this issue please let me know. I appreciate any help or pointers you can provide. Thank you
I am using DAZ3D 4.10.0.123 Pro Edition and Animate 2 shows up in my plugins with a serial number so I assume its the full version.

Strand-based hair black Viewport
Hi, I'm trying to create a new strand-based hair for my genesis 8 female but my Strand-Based Hair Editor has a full black viewport. Selecting available surfaces does not change it, nor does tweaking with the graphics settings (haven't tried everything, but most of what made sense in my head didn't change anything).

Correct method to transfer My Library to new computer
Planning on building a new system, but wondering how to transfer my DAZ Studio library over. What is the correct/safe way to do this? When I backup my current system I copy my entire library under my Documents > Daz 3D > Studio > My Library. However, I pretty sure that I can't simply re-copy this to a new install of Daz Studio on the new system.

Any Interest in RenderThrottle for 3Delight?
Some of you from the "old school" may remember the original RenderThrottle I released for 3Delight eons ago:

It was not compatible with newer versions of DS, so I removed it from the store....but I realize 3Delight still has its place and I find myself missing it.
