Face Transfer

Hi, I just used the Face Transfer (free version) for the first time. I saved it but after making my scene I wanted to use the character with the new face but could not find it anywhere.

How do I find the new face to put on the Genesis 8 Female?

Rendering issue

Pertains to both 4.12 and 4.11.

I render a 16x20 item, standard time 2 hours.

Lately ( and this has not happened before and it is happening with varios images ).

The resulting image is basicaly divied into two sections looks like image stopped mid-render,

If I double the time 4 hours when done still division.

In attachment arrow up and down different sections.

In many years this has not happened.

Multi-GPU keeps crashing

While it has worked flawlessly before it no longer works reliably. I run multiple GPUs and when I do iRay preview, Spot Render, or Render it will render with CPU or crash DAZ. Sometimes I can get it to work by Advanced and turning off all the GPUs and OptiX and turning it all back on again.

I have even reinstalled my OS wondering if it was a driver issue but it was not. My graphics cards and system is plenty powerful enough to handle the scenes I am doing. It even crashes when there is nothing on the scene. For example: I start up DAZ and the iRay Preview is on from the previous run and Daz will immediately crash when it tries to preview render with multiple GPUs.

Would like some help thank you!

[Suggestion] Finish render after next iteration

Hi,

I wanna make another little suggestion for a DazStudio update.

If I see my image looks good and I wanna finish it, I know the software is still trying to make better, so its like this:

Iray Iteration: 268

 

Iray :Render target canvas was written.

Iray Iteration: 296

Iray :Render target canvas was written.

Iray Iteration: 326

Iray :Render target canvas was written.

Iray Iteration: 359

Iray :Render target canvas was written.

 

and I know with the next "jump/step" it could be 380,390 or whatever, so, if he is done with that part, on what he is right now working he should stop. That I can grab that last in progress part too.

If I say now Cancel, he stop where he is.

I hope, you did understand what I'm talking about? :) So after the next Canvas is written Cancel/stop the render.

Problem with ig4icd64.dll. Old versions of DS available?

I bought used computer and tried to migrate DS onto it. I think migration itself worked ok, but when adding people to file or opening old file with people, DS crashes and shuts down giving message of Fatal error, and 'DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\Windows\system32\ig4icd64.dll"..' I found few threats with search "ig4icd64" from forum, not really solutions, but those hinted, this is 'cause of Intel Integrated Graphics card.
I have tried to uninstall-reinstall DS, also searching updates with 'Intel® Driver & Support Assistant', but it tells drivers are newest available (even if dated 2012-11-26).
I had old installation file for DS 4.6 and when installing with it, things seems to work, no crashes so far, but with just a litte of testing I don't know, if there's issues with newer content.. If no issues are coming, I can live with it. Hovever, I would like to test with some litte bit newer version than 4.6, its hovever 4.12 ongoing now, my 4.6 file loaded to computer June 2014, after that I have updated with Install Manager.
So if there's a solution to make things run with 4.12.. it would be best solution to me, also if there are available some old versions, but newer than mine, I would like to test them.

there is a way use the button IPR "ON/OFF" to stop Iray preview render?

i noticed, even if i'm not on aux preview i'm lag until i change to another type instead of Iray preview

in past older daz version the button was working!

 

Custom figure G8/V8 using Morph Loader Pro problems

I have G8/V8 and modified morph parameters to make a custom figure

 

I remove the eyelashes

Turn the base sub to 0

export the figure as an OBJ using the default DAZ Studio settings in the OBJ exporter. 

I reset the figure morphs all back to zero

When I load the obj back through Morph Loader Pro the morphs changes the figure to where I had made my customizations but; for example; if I change facial expressions or bend a finger joint the figure distorts, moving the lips might extend a nostril out like a linked morph target having an exaggerated reaction.

if I save the figure with the target changes I made and don’t export them as an OBJ to be brought back as a figure morph target and I make changes to the hands, face, etc. they work fine

I looked on line in a few places but the info I came back with didn’t solve this particular issue. Is there a definitive way of doing this with G8/V8 that is different or DS12 that is different now?


IRAY Photorealism?

What Iray settings would you recommand to achieve the most photrealistic effect on a character render?

Anybody workable with DAZ Studio 4.12 Mac and 3D Bridge for Photoshop?

I think it's impossble that workable with DAZ Studio 4.12 and  3D Bridge for Photoshop installed by Install Manager on a Mac... of course I installed them correctly...

Converting matching objects to instances?

I've tried searching for how to convert matching objects to instances automatically, but my searches have either been too specific to find anything or have come up with Instances to Objects, which while useful in its own right, is the wrong way around for what I want.

For example, there's a shopfront product I'd like to be able to use, but the large number of identical props in the preload version of the scene is eating up my limited VRAM. I'd like to be able to quickly select one of those props as the master, then have all matching models replaced by instances (not particularly difficult to do by hand, but time consuming). Is there an easy way to do this, or am I going to have to repopulate the scene by hand?

Um nicht im FAQ-Thread ( http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/35040/ ) diskutieren zu müssen, habe ich hier einen neuen Thread aufgemacht.
Thema: alles rund um DAZ Studio, Rendern, und sonstiges Gemüse - für Leute, die besser Deutsch als Englisch können. ;-)

Ein paar Infos zu mir: Man nennt mich Bee, ich bin weiblich und 44 Jahre alt, aus dem Raum Stuttgart.
Ich bin noch sehr neu auf dem gesamten Themengebiet Rendern, habe aber sehr viel Spass dabei, das Programm und auch die 3D-Komposition zu erlernen. Mein Nahziel ist erst mal, das Programm und die Techniken vernünftig zu beherrschen. Fernziele habe ich auch, aber von kleinen Animationsfilmchen und so was bin ich noch Lichtjahre entfernt.
Zur Zeit befasse ich mich mit Shadern, Licht, "etwas in Szene setzen", Fragen wie "Warum ist da schon wieder so ein "%§$%§$!" Loch in der Kleidung?!?!", und was man noch so alles als DAZ Studio Nutzer erleben kann. :-D
Daneben beschäftige ich mich auch noch mit Carrara 8.5. Hexagon, Blender, und Poser habe ich auch noch auf meiner Liste... irgendwann mal. :-)

Help: Strange Green Texture After Applying Hair

Hello,

I am having difficulty in applying hairs (medium to long in length) to models in Daz3d Studio. A strange, green tint appears where I believe the scalp and some of the shadows should be. I've tried looking through the forums for similar problems, but I haven't found a conclusive solution. There isn't an "applyFirst!" option supplied with the hairs, and I am using the Iray textures. These are Genesis 8 models with Genesis 8 compatible hairs. This isn't an issue that comes up with short hairs, like the default hair option that comes with Daz3d base. They appear in the final render.

I have only been using the program for around two weeks, so any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. I imagine it's something simple I've missed, and I would be happy to be the fool if it solves the issue.


Green tinge in Iray preview

So I broke down and picked up V8 which has introduced me to Gen8 which I never used before. Also I picked up Mega Wardrobe

here's an example of what I'm seeing I noticed, in this instance the pants uses a transparency to become shorts, in preview all the body parts shown when the transparency mix with a green tinge, like the figure crawled out of an algae covered pond. In order to remove the tinge I need to turn off the parts of the pants that are not visually being used. I saw this as well with the head when I applied the hair from the Hann-Mi set

Is this normal? did I miss a setting somewhere? I think my NVIDIA drivers are up-to-date but I'm not 100% sure. Iray is all very new to me.

has anyone seen anything even remotely like this when re-opening a saved file? or even when making a small change in the middle of working on a file? i don't know why this is happening, i'm on a deadline, and i can't figure out how to fix it.

PostgreSQL Error on macOS 10.15.3 with Daz 4.12

Did a clean install of Daz today to clear up another problem, but now dealing with the dreaded "PostgreSQL can't connect" message.

Been trying to fix permissions and use other tricks I've seen here on the forums, but to no avail. Log in the "cms" folder reads "FATAL:  data directory "/Users/chris/Library/Application Support/DAZ 3D/cms/ContentCluster" has wrong ownership
HINT:  The server must be started by the user that owns the data directory."

Anyone have any ideas?

What the heck does this mean and how do I fix it? I thought maybe it was Morpheus, since that's the only character I have installed since this all started (I think); but removing those morphs does not seem to fix the problem.

Can DAZ Studio render stills and animated sequences in exr format? (I saw some mention of exr related to IRAY environments but only see jpg, png, tiff, bmp as render options)  Thanks.
